Lake Rules 2007/2008


1) All Persons who visit or fish these waters MUST abide by these rules, there are no excuses.

2) Members must have a current Environment Agency rod license.

3) Members must carry their membership details with them at all times.

4) All gates must be locked after entrance or exit.

5) No litter is to be left in swims or any part of the grounds, you will be held responsible for litter in or around the swim, all must be taken home.

6) All nets, slings, sacks to be dipped in the tanks provided before fishing.

7) Large unhooking mats to be used on all waters.

8) 42"+ Landing net is required for specimen fishing.

9) All fish are to be returned to the same water as soon as possible.

10) No Boating allowed, bait boats are only allowed on BIG LAKE do not abuse this privilege, or it will be taken away from you.

11) No intrusion into other swims, only fish your water i.e. what’s straight in front of you.

12) Scales, weigh slings, cameras must be ready for use before the fish is removed from the water. Fish must remain in the landing net until everything is ready and must only be out of the water for a minimum amount of time.

13) No tackle to be left unattended, anglers are not permitted to leave there rods by more than one swim, (Receivers are not a valid excuse) any further and the rods must be wound in.

14) Rigs may be inspected by managment/baliff at any time, NO fixed rigs.

15) Three rods are allowed on big lake two rods on all other lakes.

16) No dogs, fires, loud music, swimming or wading.

17) A 5mph speed limit is in force on the entire complex.

18) Parking in designated parking areas only. NO vehicle access to Lake Perimeter.

19) No fish to be removed or introduced to fishery, live bait is only allowed with fish caught from the same water, starting October 31st until January 31st.

20) Members are held responsible for guests they bring with them, only one guest ticket per member, tickets must be purchased before entry to the fisheries, NO GUEST TICKETS for first month of the season, One tickets covers a one day period only, example: Friday to Sunday sessions requires three tickets, Guests are NOT PREMITTED to fish big lake.

21) Bait bans, NO PEANUTS, TIGERNUTS ALLOWED shop bought only (Dynamite Bits).

22) Remember this is a fishing complex, not a PUBLIC HOUSE if you treat it as one you will be requested to leave the premises and have your membership and key taken from you.


If you do not understand any part of these rules do not be afraid to ask, any members or guests not abiding by them will be expected to leave the premises immediately, permits, guest tickets are not transferable.

Ruxley Lakes & (O.D.A.A) Reserves the right to withdraw or suspend permits at there discretion and in that event all rights of permit holder shall cease and no refund of any monies shall be paid.

All decisions made by management / committee are final and are not subject to appeal.

Please report any problems to any official of the lakes to deal with, any questions you have will be answered to the best of our knowledge either in person or at the forum. Reports of catches, photos are welcome.

Please remember this is a SSSI site we are governed by the English Nature & Kent Wildlife Trust. All stocks are true fish no matter what the species, they are born and bred within our waters, we do not have imports, look after them and there surroundings.
